Kakao’s public blockchain platform Klaytn has announced a group of additional partnerships.

Klaytn said Tuesday that it had signed partnership agreements with eight companies having a large user base including Watcha’s blockchain project Contents Protocol and Zanadu’s Atlas. Earlier in October, Klayn formed partnerships with nine companies including Wemade Tree and Piction Network.

Contents Protocol, a decentralized content platform operating movie recommendation services, has 4.5 million users. The protocol records users’ activities including recommendations, ratings and reviews on the blockchain and offers rewards for contributions. It plans to expand cooperation with other platforms having varied contents like music and e-books beyond video.

Atlas, the blockchain project of Zanadu, China’s luxury travel agency having more than 2 million users, is also provided via Klaytn. Atlas is a blockchain-based travel data platform that offers reliable information on overseas tourism products by collecting data on travel experiences through customers, tourism and airline companies and hotel chains.

Way2Bit, the developer of BORA, a blockchain-based digital contents platform, also takes part in Klaytn. BORA makes it easier for contents providers to connect blockchain technology with token development and provides them with a smart contract environment. It ensures users the safety of assets and provides them with user interface (UI) and user experience (UX). Way2Bit has formed partnerships with more than 20 game developers including Four Thirty Three Inc. (4:33) and Action Square and is conducting cooperation projects.

Other companies that have joined Klaytn include SPIN Protocol, a commerce ecosystem for social influencers; Cloudbric, an artificial engineering-based security service; Insureum, a customized insurance product data protocol operated by the healthcare platform Zikto; Knocknock, the blockchain project of Singapore’s identity authentication company IDBook; and Antube, the blockchain-powered entertainment platform of the mobile optimization company Yomob.

The newly designated partners will use Klaytn’s testnet to make contribution to the platform’s perfection and aim to reveal DApps, timed with the opening of Klaytn’s mainnet, to help blockchain become popularized. Klaytn plans to continue to expand partnerships until the opening of its mainnet in the first half of next year. Ground X CEO Han Jae-sun said, “We expect the new partners to create blockchain services users can access easily thanks to their experiences of having developed and operated services dedicated to millions of users.” /wonjaeyeon@decenter.kr
