The Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) has embarked on appraising the validity of applying blockchain technology to arms acquisition projects and exploring applicable areas. The state defense procurement agency will receive bids concerning blockchain application studies in the defense sector through April 11.
The initiative is focused on preventing corruption in the defense industry. More recently, blockchain technology has been in the spotlight for ensuring transparency, integrity and availability amid rising calls for uprooting irregularities and solutions.
The successful bidder for the research project is expected to be selected in the second quarter of this year. During the five-month research period, DAPA will focus on discovering areas where blockchain technology can be applied and what blockchain structures are suitable in relevant areas. It will also draw up a master plan to introduce blockchain to the defense sector. /email@example.com
